Hi!

I’m really excited to share that our second class in our free learn stop motion animation series has been scheduled!

https://thechattery.org/classes/introduction-to-stop-motion-animation-2?fbclid=IwY2xjawUrzglleHRuA2FlbQIxMQBwZG9mBXNydGMGYXBwX2lkEDIyMjAzOTE3ODgyMDA4OTIAAR4oXhHauZ9jJDOf5CO3rD4TvHAdAuGjGSruM799gbiMx9Cd5ZKQF9Bjd70zFg_aem_pSD2z21fXltgK71OaQgQrA

The class will be at The Chattery on Saturday October 17th from 1:00-3:00pm.

This beginner stop motion animation class is absolutely FREE!!! That’s right! Free!

Like last time, there are only 10 seats available so space is limited. Last class sold out so make sure to reserve your seat!

Once again, thank you so very much to Artsbuild for sponsoring this and allowing it to happen. It’s through the Artists Work grant via Artsbuild that this class is happening.

Thank you to The Chattery as well for hosting!!!

Come learn how to animate with me! Come learn about this timeless art form and how it can be used to tell your own stories. At the end of the project (early 2027) we will be sharing the animation of students who choose to do so. Fun!!!

With stop motion you can literally create ANYTHING.

Ages 12 and up.

We’re kicking off the roll out for the “Your Library. Read-Defined.” animation series for The Chattanooga Public Library / @chattlibrary!

First up is the Intro for Poppy!

Fun fact about the music for this series/project: We recorded the original score at The Studio, an industry-standard recording studio located on the second floor of the downtown library.

Huge shout out to the amazing musicians who brought it to life with me:

Matt Eslinger – Bass (@theskeletonkeyworkshop)

Ben Stephens – Keys (@bennerstephensmusic)

Gordon Inman – Clarinet (@chattanooga_clarinetist)

After working on this series for nearly a year, I’m thrilled to finally share these videos with everyone.
Stay tuned over the next few weeks! I’ll be dropping the rest of the series along with some fun Behind-the-Scenes (BTS) clips showing the process!

Hi everyone!

We had our first community workshop yesterday with free admission. It went great! My students were eager and learned some fundamental concepts.

They are all animators now! Please enjoy some photographs below!

Thank so much to Studio Ours for hosting it.

Also thank you to Arts Build for helping to make this all happen.

Thank you to the people that came out to learn. It feels good keeping tangible art forms alive!

We will have more classes soon. I have one coming up in October at the Chattery that will also be free! More on that soon….

Finally, we will be updating the official site and creating a new digital gallery space to share and showcase what’s happening in these workshops and the magic of people seeing their work come to life for the first time (note the smiles in the pictures).

I can’t wait til we get that live.

Thanks for reading!

We are thrilled to announce that The Skeleton Key Workshop took home the top prize at this year’s ArtsBuild Periscope Pitch Showcase. This is the 3rd year they’ve had the program in Chattanooga (it started off in Nashville). The Pitch Showcase was held at RISE Chattanooga which was a really great space.

My classmates and I started this journey back in August of last year and it’s been an incalculable resource and learning tool. One of my teachers told us “You’ll get out of it what you put into it” and I have found this to be very true. I got to meet some wonderful people and made some new friends. Yay! The community and connections have truly been the highlight of this experience.

This is a pivotal moment for the Workshop.

I am feeling an immense sense of gratitude, pride, and excitement as everything slowly starts to settle in. We have some significant projects on the horizon, and I can’t wait to show you what we’ve been building in the studio.

Thank you so much to ArtsBuild and the Periscope program for their incredible support of the Chattanooga arts community.
