The Skeleton Key Workshop®

An award-winning stop motion animation studio based in beautiful Chattanooga, Tennessee

WTCI and PBS Kids do amazing things! Check it out!

Here’s a video showing some of the work I’ve done with WTCI/PBS at the Ready to Learn workshops over the past year or so.

Some of the videos were used for station identification. We also exported some and sent them directly to the families themselves!

Fun!

With some of the older kids, I would let them direct and animate themselves! One kiddo would instruct the other what to do, and then capture the animation themselves!
People ALWAYS light up when they click play and see what they just created come to life. Kids and adults alike.

Please consider a donation to your local PBS station! They can use your help!

Explore the ‘Opening Credits’ of Chapped’s Latest Release

Check out the ‘opening credits’ video for the skateboarding company Chapped, for their new video release, “Bad Star”. The idea was influenced by the old horror television show “Chiller” from the 1970s.

The video below shows what I animated vs the original video.

Check it out! Here’s a link to Thrasher’s site where you can watch the whole thing:

Special Needs

I’m excited and proud to share the newest video from The Skeleton Key Workshop.

It’s called Special Needs and is a collaboration with the good people over at DIYabled. We want to help bring awareness and information about disability into the world.

The voices were done by Priya Ray and Robert Price.

The music is by Kreamy ‘Lectric Santa.

Puppets and animation were done by me.

The catalyst for this project stems from a conversation I was having with Priya where I used the term ‘special needs’. Priya gently corrected me and let me know that term isn’t really used anymore. It was a moment of growth for me. How eating your lunch isn’t a special need. We all need to eat! From there we started talking about what if we made a video explaining this very thing. It turned into what you now see. It feels good to grow.

I hope you enjoy it! We plan on making a series of videos on a wide range of subjects with some of these new characters so stay tuned! #disability #theskeletonkeyworkshop #diyabled #stopmotionanimation #puppet #diy #braille #chattanooga
